What to keep in mind after Liposuction -

Important note after the treatment

1. Movement -Normal daily manipulation and movement at home is permitted and wished to prevent vein clotting and reduce swelling.
2. At the day of surgery please drink 1-2 liters more than normal. This is important to prevent vein clotting.
3. Compression garments are to be carried 1 week long, day and night. In daytime you can take the garments off for 2 hours to wash them. After the first week of wearing garments, it is recommeneded to use garments for another 2-3 weeks 12 hours a day.
4. Tapes remain on for 6-7 days. The doctor will take them off after that period.
5. To take a shower (with tapes !!) is permitted after the 2nd day.
6. The treated areas can be massaged softly after one week, if necessary.
7. After the surgery you should take the prescribed Antibiotic ( Cefuroxim ). The intake dosage is as arranged with the physician
   staring from the day of surgery.
8. Paracetamol (pain relief) as required. Dosage: 1 pill (500mg) per day or as arranged with the doctor.
9. Don't drive a after the surgery.
10. How to wash the garments:
    put them for 10 minutes in cold salty water, then in the washing mashine
    with the normal cold wash program, with powder.
11. Sauna is permitted only 1 month after the liposuction.
12. Tan bank and extensive sun exposure, at the earliest 1 month after surgery.
13. Post-Operative Care: After the liposuction you have to come for the 1st re-examination on the
    day directly after the surgery and the 2nd control will be one week after the surgery.
14. Further control dates (1 month, 3 months, 6 months) after arrangement with the physician. The doctor is always avaiabable on the phone for urgent questions. The telefone numbers are in your After-Surgery package.
