Scientists discovered New Way how Hyaluronic Acid works

Wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid injections is one of the most successful procedures in cosmetic dermatology. The improvement of the skin pattern was generally believed to be due to filling the wrinkles with new material. Now scientists have found and proven that it is partially also a result of the production of completely new collagen after hyaluronic acid injection. Recent research confirms that treatment with hyaluronic acid enhances the collagen ratio in the skin. Scientists Frank Wang et al. (Arch Dermatol 2007; 143 (2) 155-63) found also that hyaluronic acid-treated skin has a higher level of the enzyme responsible for collagen synthesis. That is great news for patients. It means that hyaluronic acid injection lasts longer than comparable treatments.
